Rivers:


East Fork Jemez River

A small tributary to the Jemez River entering at Battleship Rock
Fish species- Brown and Rainbow Trout

Clarity: Clear and low
Fishing conditions: Good
Trout: Good
Flies:   bead head nymphs, copper johns; dry fly action good in upper stream with black ants, hoppers, yellow stimulators
Lures:  Panther Martins
Bait: Power Bait, and worms

Guadalupe River

A Small tributary to the Jemez River near Jemez Springs, River closes in the winter.
Fish species- Brown Trout

Clarity: Clear and low
Fishing conditions: Good
Trout: Good
Flies:   bead head nymphs, copper johns; dry fly action good with terrestrials
Lures:  Panther Martins
Bait: Power Bait, worms

Jemez River

A medium sized stream flowing from the Jemez Mountains near Jemez Springs
Fish species- Rainbow and Brown Trout
Flow: 12 CFS
Clarity: Clear and low
Fishing conditions: Good
Trout: Good
Flies:  bead head nymphs, copper johns; dry fly action good in upper stream with terrestrials, yellow stimulators
Lures:  Panther Martins
Bait:  worms, power bait

Metro Drainages

Winter trout waters- Several Drainages that flow along the Rio Grande to include Albuquerque, Bernalillo, Belen, Corrales, Peralta.
Fish species- Rainbow Trout, Bass and Catfish

Fishing conditions: Good
Last stocking of rainbow trout was March 16

San Antonio Creek

A small Tributary to the Jemez River where it joins at Battleship Rock

Bluewater Lake

A 1350 acre lake 20 miles Southwest of Grants
Fish species- Rainbow Trout, Catfish and Tiger Muskie

Lake Level: 1350 surface acres down to 400 surface acres
Boating conditions: Fair - Las Tucas ramp closed, west Stone Ridge closed
Fishing conditions: Good
Trout: Slow with light pressure
Lures:  Spinners
Bait:   Power Bait, salmon eggs
Tiger Musky (bag limit is 1 longer than 40" ): Slow with light pressure
Lures:   trolling crank baits, silver spoons
Catfish: Slow with light pressure
Bait:  chicken liver

Cochiti Lake

A 1200 acre lake 30 miles Southwest of Santa Fe
Fish species- Walleye, Bass, Channel Catfish, Crappie, Bluegill, Yellow Perch and Northern Pike

Clarity:  Murky
Lake level: 11% of capacity, 63% of average and 98% of last year
Boating conditions: Good
Shore conditions: Good
Walleye: NR
Lures: Rat-l-traps, jigs
Bait: worms
Bass: NR
Lures:  crank baits
Bait: Worms
Catfish: Good on east side of lake
Bait: Worms, chicken liver
Bluegill / Crappie/ Perch: NR
Bait:  Worms
Northern Pike: Few 25-30 inchers caught

Fenton Lake

A 30 acre lake located in the Jemez Mountains 21 miles North of Jemez Springs, a popular ice fishing spot during the winter
Fish species- Rainbow, Brown and Cutthroat Trout

Clarity: Fairly clear
Float fishing conditions:  Good

Trout: Good from shore

Bait: Pink Power Bait, salmon eggs, worms
Tingley Beach
3 ponds along the Rio Grande in Albuquerque
Fish species- Rainbow and Brown Trout, Large and Small Mouth Bass, Sunfish and Catfish
Fishing conditions: Good
Trout: Poor - won't be good until weather is cooler - Please! USE CARE WHEN HANDLING TROUT IN THE CATCH AND RELEASE POND.
