Rivers:
Cimarron River
A small stream flowing from Eagle Nest Lake through Cimarron to Springer. The river is approximately 60 miles long.
Fish species- Brown and Rainbow Trout
Flow: 42 CFS below Eagle Nest Dam - 40 CFS near Cimarron
Clarity: Fairly clear
Shore fishing conditions: Good - Caddis, trico and BWO hatches still in progress
Trout: Good
Flies: Dry/droppers in am, attractors mid-day
Lures: Panther Martins
Bait: worms, salmon eggs
Costilla Creek
A medium sized creek flowing from Colorado, west into Costilla Lake then through the Valle Vidal. The river then runs through the town of Costilla and flows west where it meets the Rio Grande.
Fish species- Brown, Rainbow, and Cutthroat trout
Flow: 79 CFS near town of Costilla - 74 CFS below the dam

Red River
A mountain stream that joins the Rio Grande South of Questa. The Red River is one of the few streams in New Mexico where an angler can catch 4 separate species of trout in one day. It's called a Red River Grand Slam- Rainbow, Brown, Cutthroat and Brook. Fish species Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout and at higher elevations Brook Trout and Cutthroats
Flow: 20 CFS at Questa, 56 CFS below hatchery
Clarity: Clearing
Shore fishing conditions: Good
Trout: Good everywhere below hatchery
Flies: dry/dropper set-ups, bead head nymphs, black woolly buggers

Rio Grande
The river is approximately 1885 miles long. Headwaters originate in south west Colorado in the Rio Grande National Forest. The river flows south east through the San Luis Valley and then south into New Mexico.

Flow: 219 CFS below Taos Junction Bridge - 65 CFS near Cerro

Rio Pueblo
A medium sized tributary to the Rio Grande near Tres Ritos.
