Check this out, We were goofing off when this guy calls and says hes caught a fish out on Morgan lake but he doesn't know what it is. we ask whats it look like, he says it looks like a pirhana. yeah right whatever we tell the guy and hes says well ill bring down so you can check it out and tell me what it is. well were guessing just a huge blue gill or something. half hour later this guy shows up and no doubt, its a pirhana. we call Kathy from game and fish, she shows up with Anthony and at first he was like whatever you guys are full of it until he looks into the cooler. Kathy knew what it was. its called a red paku pirhana. she said Wall mart was selling these things about five years ago and someone just threw them in the lake. pretty crazy and supposedly this isn't the first one. kinda weary if you ask me. anyway the anglers name is Nathaniel Chavez. the fish weighed out at 3 1/2 pounds and measured 15 1/2 inches. caught at Morgan lake on chicken liver. well that was the exciting story of the day. take care.
We will be recieving the story of who and how this fish was caught in the next few days!

On this warm Friday myself and my kids were sitting at home being bored. They mentioned that they would like to go and wet their lines at the kids pond at Tingley beach and me being a fish-o-holic said let's go!! Once we got there the kids immediately began cating fish that included trout as well as catfish. My daughter caught a few trout and a nice 23 inch 7 lb catfish. My son caught all trout but did lose at least 3 big cats. Of course they made me proud and make me believe that they are following in my footsteps, or I hope to think. Congrats Eli and Alexis, you both are great anglers!

Hey mike how'd the rest of your Monday go? ours was slow at Zia. here's a couple of pics from the fishing done last week on the San Juan by the cottonwood camp area. I caught those 5 rainbows on the green label Salmon eggs, 4lb test, a Shakespeare micro spin rod, and a Daiwa micro cast reel. those 10-12 inches put up really good fights. the brown was caught on the same rig and it was a thrill to fight him as i watched him bend that fast action rod right over. he turned out to be 20 inches. what damn good way to start the morning. take care guys and talk to you later.

So here is my story;
I had the opportunity to go to Vermejo Park Ranch over the weekend and what an experience that was! Out of all the fish we caught I caught the biggest fish! This trout was so big it wrapped around inside the cooler, I didn't take measurements but as you can see it's huge! It weighed about 9 pounds and was easily 30 inches. I caught it on a Devele Dog, it was my lucky lure of the trip. What an awesome experience! This is the biggest trout I have ever caught and it was a great battle! Fish On!
