Rivers:

 

South Platte River

The rivers headwaters are located in the South Park Grassland Basin, the river flows south into Spinney Mountain Reservoir (Region 3). (Region 4) starts at Eleven Mile Reservoir turns north and runs through the Denver Metro. (Region 2) the river continues north then turns east at Greeley where it flows north-east into Nebraska.
Fish species: Rainbow, Brown and Cutthroat Trout

Gold Medal Waters

Eleven Mile Canyon below Eleven Mile Reservoir

Flow: 108 CFS
Clarity: Clear
Fishing conditions:
Good, with low flows a stleathy approach is a must!

Trout: Good
Flies: Flashback Pheasant tails 20, PMD emergers 16-18, barrs graphic caddis 16-18 and Trico's - nymphs (rs-2's), spinner, drowned.
Lures: Orange and black/gold Panther Martin's

Deckers below Chessman Reservoir

Flow: work on the dam has left the reading to a guess - best is 250 CFS

Green cast
Fishing conditions:
 Fair

Trout: Fair
Flies: Caddis (adult, pupa and larvae) tan elk hair caddis, tan barrs graphic caddis 16 - 18,  barr Pmd emerger, Flashback Pheasant tails 16-18, yellow and brown stones and Amy's ant 8-10.
Lures: Orange and black/gold Panther Martin's

Dream Stream below Spinney Reservoir

Flow: 51 CFS
Clarity: Off color
Fishing conditions: Poor

Trout: Slow - no good
Flies: Caddis (adult, pupa and larvae) tan elk hair caddis, tan barrs graphic caddis 16 - 18,  barr Pmd emerger and Flashback Pheasant tails 16-18

Clear Creek

Fish species: Rainbow and Brown Trout


Flow: Empire: 75 CFS / Near Lawson: 138 CFS

Fishing conditions:  Lots of raft traffic in the canyon, and kayakers as well.  Flows below 350 and we start to see the holes and runs develop better.  If you must, nymphs will provide the best chance of sticking some fish. Keep the bugs big bright and flashy and fish the edges and seams where the flow is softer and the clarity will be best.  Closer to Georgetown will fish the best right now, with the lower canyon slowly coming back into shape in July.

Barr Lake

A 2500 acre lake, located 20 miles east of Denver. Ice fishing permitted on North end of lake.

Clarity: Algae
Lake Level: 3 feet down, 75 degrees
Boating conditions: *Due to a sink hole at the bridge going to the boat ramp, the lake is temporarily closed to boating until fixed* 
Fishing conditions: Open for shore fishing, Fair

Trout: Slow to Fair -  try north or south of the boat ramp.
Flies: Wolly buggers, Pheasant tails, Hares ears
Lures:
Tasmanian Devils, Panther Martins, spoons
Bait: Power bait (rainbow), worms
Walleye: Slow to Fair, try deep
Lures: Jigs, Bottom bouncers
Bait:Nightcrawlers, minnows, worm harness, leeches

Lures: Jigs tipped with mealworms

Cherry Creek Reservoir

A 1000 acre lake, located 10 miles southeast of Denver. Open to ice fishing.

Clarity:
Lake Level: Full, about 78 degrees
Boating conditions: Open for boating, ramps open
Fishing conditions: Good, look for schools of shad

Trout: Fair to Good - try Tower Loop or east dam
Flies: Black or olive wooly buggers
Lukes: Kastmasters, Panther Martins, Tazmanian Devils
Bait: Nightcrawlers, power bait, salmon eggs
Bass: Wipers- NR   Smallmouth: Fair   Largemouth: Good, try nightcrawlers off the boat docks
Lures: Crankbaits, Jerkbaits, Spinnerbaits, Perch color spoons for Wipers, shad immitations, Rapala's
Bait: Nightcrawlers
Walleye: Fair to Good -  try by dam or near the tower

Eleven Mile Reservoir

A large reservoir, located on the South Platte River and neighbor to Spinney Mountain Reservoir (Region 3). Ice fishing is allowed.

Clarity:
Lake Level: 2 feet down, 64 degrees
Boating conditions: Open for boating
Fishing conditions: Good

Trout: Good - try south or west side of lake. Early a.m. and late evenings are best times.
Flies: Midge patterns, streamers, egg patterns, green emergers, scuds(pink or olive)
Lures: Green tube jigs, Krocadiles, Tasmanian Devils (rainbow), Arnies, Kastmasters, spoons
Bait: Power bait, salmon eggs, night crawlers, wax worms
Pike: Fair - try 8-10 feet of water, try East Bay
Flies:Whisters (red and white), Pike Bunnies
Lures:
Large spoons, Kastmasters, Blue Fox Vibrax spinners, 3" white or silver tube jigs
Bait: Sucker meat, meal worms, water dogs
Kokanee: NR - try around the islands in the am
Lures: Arnies, Kastmasters, Kokanee Killers

Tarryall Lake

A small lake on Tarryall Creek and located in Central Colorado. Open to ice fishing.

Clarity:
Lake Level: Full, 64 degrees
Boating conditions: Open for boating, inspections 6am - 10pm Thurs. thru Mon.
Fishing conditions: Fair

Trout: Fair - try the north shore shallows or along west shore
Flies: Wolly Buggers, various nymphs, Caddis, BWO
Lures: Jigs, Tasmanian Devils, Kastmasters, Panther Martins, Mepps, Rooster Tails
Bait: Power Bait (green, orange, garlic flavored), Nightcrawlers, wax worms, meal worms
Pike: Slow, try weedy shallows
Flies:
